STREET YOUTH RADIO PROGRAMME - MOZAMBIQUE En Portuguese In collaboration with GOAL Mozambique, CMFD developed a radio programme with a group of  Street Youth in Maputo, Mozambique. The group recorded songs, skits, and messages about HIV/AIDS, sexual abuse, and children's rights in Portuguese and Xhangana. CMFD produced the audio programme and also be an accompanying Portuguese language activity book, to be used in literacy programmes. The activity was undertaken as a follow-up to the Stepping Stones programme being used by GOAL to develop knowledge and skills among the street youth. A room  in the GOAL office was turned into a studio for the week, and all recording was done on site. The creativity of the youth was clear, with the touching, humourous and complex storylines that were created to talk about the issues. One of the highlights was a musical composition with accomanying drums, trumpet by Daniel Walter, and saxophone from Mozambique's much loved Machotte Munemua. A follow-up project was later conducted, bringing together a group of the street youth with local musicians. Since 2000 the programme  focus in Mozambique has been on projects which benefit the most vulnerable, including street children and marginalised families and communities living in difficult circumstances.
