Environmental problems are
numerous in Ghana and environmental awareness is very low. Lack of
clean water, desertification and bushfires cause the loss of crops ,
lives and livelihoods every year. Lack of attention
to environmental
issues is largely due to
lack of awareness and education about the
cause and consequences of environmental
problems.
A series of radio spots were
developed to sensitize individuals, especially youth, about
environmental problems. We sent out a call of scripts for environmental
awareness messages and had great response. Young people from across
Ghana sent in their submissions, and the scripts were recorded and
produced. All of the scripts were written by youth volunteers and
voiced by volunteers.
