CMFD Productions works with communities, radio stations, NGOs and CBOs to produce high quality audio. In all our work, the focus is on participation, which means the people we work with set the agenda and are present throughout the production process, from conceptualisation to the final cut.
Working within established communications for social change principles, we guide participants through the process of creating radio dramas, news features, spots, etc., ensuring that each programme truly reflects their voices, opinions and ideas.
In addition to participatory media, we also produce original music with local musicians across Africa, both in album format and as part of our radio drama projects; conduct research around the issues our projects deal with; and provide content production and editorial services for organisations like Soul Beat Africa and Gender Links.
