During the conference, Walter, together with Gender Links, the Gender and Media Diversity Centre (GMDC), the Gender, Media Southern Africa (GEMSA) Network and the African Woman and Child Feature Service (AWC) produced a daily newspaper, Daily Links. The paper brings the voices and views of African women to the fore, and was distributed in hard copy and online each day of the week-long conference.
The conference, organised by the UN Commission on the Status of Women, aims to assess progress made on the Beijing Platform of Action 15 years after it was adopted at the Fouth World Conference on Women in 1995. For more information about the conference and the Beijing Platform, visit the African Woman and Child Feature Service website.
